  • Master’s program

Division of Pharmacology: In addition to thesis work, 24 academic credits in course work are required of which Special Programs in Basic Pharmacology and Laboratory  (4 credits); Experimental Pharmacology (3 credits); Advanced Pharmacology (3 credits) and Combined Seminar in Pharmacology (4 credits) are compulsory.

Division of Clinical Pharmacy: In addition to thesis work, 24 academic credits in course work are required of which Special Programs in Advanced Pharmacotherapy and Drug (6 credits); Medication Safety and Medical Policy(2 credits); Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacogenetics (2 credits); Clinical Pharmacy Practice (6 credits);  and Combined Seminar on Clinical Pharmacotherapy (4 credits) are compulsory.  

Division of Pharmaceutics: In addition to thesis work, 24 academic credits in course work are required of which Special Programs in Basic Pharmacology and Laboratory  (4 credits); Pharmaceutics and Laboratory  (6 credits) and Combined Seminar in Pharmaceutics (4 credits) are compulsory.

  • Doctoral Program:

(1) In addition to the dissertation, 18 academic credits in course work are required. Those who have not completed the Combined pharmacology and laboratory courses offered by our Institute or the equivalents are required to do so with the credits counting towards the credit requirements. Also compulsory is program-long participation in Seminar in pharmacology.

(2) Following the satisfactory completion of an academic year’s work, the supervising professor is responsible for the establishment of a research advisory committee whose function is to oversee the candidate’s progress and administer the qualifying examination.

(3) The candidate must pass the qualifying examination within 3years of his/her program. To qualify for the dissertation examination, the candidate must have published as a first author 1-2 scientific papers in SCI journals.

  • Dual Degree Program: Institute of Pharmacology of National Yang-Ming University (hereinafter referred to as "NYMU") and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (hereinafter referred to as "UTAR") agree to develop a Dual Degree program at Master’s and PhD level allowing participating students of the two institutions to be granted a Master’s or PhD degree by each university.
